BODIES OF WORK
These various bodies of work represent an evolution of clarity and discovery. Beginning with minimal, abstracted sculptural paintings and growing into detailed examinations of some of life's taboo topics and overlooked delights, these works challenge the viewer to find meaning beyond the obvious.
BEING VS BACKING
A Brilliant Balance
This body of work looks to explore the delicate touch of graphite and conte as it describes the human figure in a softly sexual way as it relates to such an emotionally charged, red toned paper. These drawings beg the viewer to understand the careful balance that is emotion vs action.
SOFTLY FRACTURED
Undergraduate Portfolio
Often architectural, these geometric sculptures extend out from every axis. Each piece of the sculpture is reaching, pulling, crawling, or stable. The panels and appendages that extend from the structure break up the uniformity of the main stack. They engage with the negative and positive portions of a space, and are then unified by the subtleties of their color relationships. The colors chosen are representative of an abstracted environment. The space that they live in is just as important as the work itself; relating the pieces to one another and engaging each axis that they cling to. Shadows created emphasize its delicate nature and contrast the sharp edges that confine it.
