SOFTLY FRACTURED
Undergraduate Portfolio
Often architectural, these geometric sculptures extend out from every axis. Each piece of the sculpture is reaching, pulling, crawling, or stable. The panels and appendages that extend from the structure break up the uniformity of the main stack. They engage with the negative and positive portions of a space, and are then unified by the subtleties of their color relationships. The colors chosen are representative of an abstracted environment. The space that they live in is just as important as the work itself; relating the pieces to one another and engaging each axis that they cling to. Shadows created emphasize its delicate nature and contrast the sharp edges that confine it.
